Fees and Costs

The cost of an undergraduate education at a University College has three components:

Tuition fees

Tuition fees at LUC The Hague are made up of two elements: the government imposed tuition fee which differs depending on citizenship, and a so called “institutional fee”. The tuition fee is subsidized by the government for all EEA nationals and therefor differs from Non-EU students. On the other hand, the institutional fee is the same for every student regardless of citizenship, and is there to cover for additional facilities, services, and small class sizes available at the University College. Therefor, the only “additional” cost involved when choosing for a University College programme in The Netherlands will be this latter component.

Housing fees

The housing fees cover the costs of living on campus and making use of the facilities available. The on-campus housing entails mainly single-studio apartments (kitchen, bathroom, and living area) that are rented out fully furnished for the first two years of your studies. The costs below will outline the cost for a single studio apartment, including all service fees, bed linen package and city taxes. This cost is excluding any rental subsidies students may be eligible for in order to reduce the cost. More information on this is available in Financial Support.

Personal Expenses

Living expenses can only be estimated as this largely depends on your individual life style. Personal expenses include but are not limited to health insurance costs, food, transportation and leisure activities.
